CULTURAL EVENTS GUIDELINES

Cultural Events at HTCC

Welcome, Artists!!

In offering your art at HTCC, you are not performing for an audience alone — you are offering seva to the Divine. Each note, each step, each gesture becomes part of the sacred rhythm of worship. We welcome you with gratitude, reverence, and joy. May your contribution uplift hearts and honor tradition.

Guidelines for Artists Participating in Cultural Activities at HTCC

  • Performance Registrations: To ensure every devotee and budding performer has the chance to offer their seva, an artist or group may register for only one slot per month. This way, we honor inclusivity and give space for all talents to shine.
  • Cancellations: We deeply value your commitment. If you are unable to perform, please inform cultural@htccwa.org at the earliest. Last-minute cancellations or rescheduling cannot be accommodated, as each slot is a sacred opportunity for another artist to serve.
  • Performance Photos and Videos on HTCC Social Media: By registering, you acknowledge that your seva may be recorded and shared on HTCC's social channels. These recordings are used to celebrate, educate, and preserve our cultural offerings. Your participation is a blessing to the community, and your consent allows us to honor it publicly. If you prefer not to appear, kindly notify us in advance.
  • Performance Duration: Each seva offering should be between 5–10 minutes. This ensures the rituals flow smoothly and every participant is respected with time for their contribution.
  • Arrive Early: Arriving 15–30 minutes before your slot ensures your seva is included in the Vedic order of rituals. These offerings are woven into the sacred sequence and cannot be rescheduled once begun.
  • Dress Code: Please wear traditional Indian attire or the prescribed costume for your art form. We request students to avoid casual wear such as shorts or t-shirts, as attire reflects reverence for the sanctity of the temple.
  • Audio Preparation for Nritya Seva: If you are offering a dance performance, please bring a high-quality audio file that can be played via temple speakers or connected to a mic. The temple speaker system supports only a standard 3.5mm audio plug. Please bring a compatible cable that connects your phone or device to a 3.5mm jack. This ensures smooth playback without delays.
  • Sruthi Setup for Sangeetha Seva: Vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to bring their own sruthi box or electronic sruthi. Begin tuning as the ceremonies commence, so your seva flows seamlessly into the ritual sequence.
  • Check-In Upon Arrival: On arrival, please report to the HTCC cultural coordinator, who will guide you through the schedule and setup. This ensures you feel supported and prepared before your offering.
  • Participation in Ceremonies: We humbly request all participants to remain until the conclusion of the ceremonies. The priests will offer blessings, and the HTCC Cultural Team will present a small token of appreciation. Your presence completes the circle of devotion and community.

Additional Supportive Pointers

  • Respect for Sacred Space: Please maintain silence and reverence in the temple premises before and after your performance.
  • Instrument Setup & Logistics: If you are bringing large instruments (mridangam, veena, tabla, etc.), kindly inform us in advance for setup space.
  • Children & Student Performers: Parents and gurus are requested to guide younger students in discipline and readiness, ensuring the rituals flow smoothly.
  • Rehearsal & Readiness: Rehearse with your audio or sruthi beforehand. A brief sound check before ceremonies is encouraged.
  • Offering Etiquette: Bow or pray before and after your performance as a gesture of gratitude.
  • Community Spirit: Stay to support fellow performers — offer encouragement and share in the collective devotion.
  • Photography Etiquette: Family and friends may take photos respectfully, without obstructing rituals or distracting performers.
  • Feedback & Suggestions: Share your thoughts with us at cultural@htccwa.org. Your input helps us grow together.
